Scoring kills and navigating the huge Narvik map in the Battlefield V Closed Alpha almost feels like an easy task for players right now. One thing that most of them have in common is bad feedback about the reviving system that works in a clunky way and is expected to be the center of memes in the months to come.
Reviving in Battlefield V works much like what we’ve seen in battle royale titles like Fortnite and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. The player that was downed can call out for revive, which can now be provided by anyone in your squad, with a time reduction for the medic.
If you decide to call for help and have a squad member come to your rescue, you’ll notice that the actual “calling out” is extremely funny. The voice acting in Battlefield V – at least in its Closed Alpha – is not spot on. The reviving lines are realistic but we can’t help but make fun about our situation when that happens.
Now, let’s head over to the important stuff. Reviving a player in Battlefield V requires a small animation at the end of the precedure, which results to the reviver staying still for a second and the revived person to get a slightly bigger one. Players report that reviving a player in many situations is impossible due to that mechanic, since enemy players can shoot you while you’re just standing still for a bit.
On the long run, this faulty mechanic needs to be changed in order for it to be used. In many situations, players will choose to net help a fallen teamate just to make sure that they won’t be killed on that split second after the reviving precedure.
It remains to be seen if the Battlefield V reviving system will change in some way after the closed alpha. Since the feedback for it is mostly negative for now, we expect DICE to make some changes in order for players to focus more on teamwork and less on “rampaging the land”.
