The Call of Duty Endowment Has Now Helped 50,000 Veterans Find High-Quality Jobs

Activision has announced a major milestone for its Call of Duty Endowment (or CODE) charity initiative. The initiative, which helps combat veterans find and train for high-quality civilian jobs, has now helped over 50,000 people. Even better, Activision reached the 50,000 veterans helped milestone ahead of schedule.

The Call of Duty Endowment has helped over 50,000 veterans.

Call of Duty Endowment 50,000 Veterans Milestone

The Call of Duty Endowment was first founded way back in 2009. Activision began the initiative with a rather modest goal: place 25,000 veterans into high-quality jobs by 2018. However, CODE had already reached that goal by 2011 so Activision quickly set a new goal of 50,000 by 2019. Again, the generous support of founders and fans blew away expectations with the 50,000 milestone having been now reached.

A press release from Activision has also disclosed the newest CODE goal: 100,000 veterans helped by 2024.

From Activision CEO Bobby Kotick:

“The Call of Duty Endowment has exceeded expectations and continues to benefit the lives of veterans and their families, significantly giving back to those who sacrificed for others. With U.S. and U.K. veteran unemployment and underemployment challenges persisting, I am thrilled to advance our efforts with a new, ambitious goal of securing employment for 100,000 veterans by 2024.”

Call of Duty players have also done their part to support the CODE initiative by purchasing select DLC packs. Proceeds from DLC such as the CODE Salute pack for Call of Duty Black Ops 4 directly benefit CODE. Those who purchase the DLC packs not only support CODE financially, they also get some cosmetic items showing their support.
