The Crew 2 Post-Launch Schedule Has Been Announced

Ubisoft has announced The Crew 2 post-launch schedule. With the release of the game coming in just a few weeks on June 29th, it makes sense to let anticipating players know what’s to come for the open-world online racing game in the future. The post-release plans that the developer has announced span from its upcoming launch through the rest of this year and even into next year.

The vision Ubisoft has for the post-launch plans for The Crew 2 revolves around three simple principles: polish, densification, and novelty. Polish is pretty self-explanatory but it basically means that the developer will continuously be “refining and improving the game”, according to the blog post. Densification means that there will be a wide variety of activities and content added to the base game.

The final principle, novelty, includes adding brand new features to the game that are much larger in scope and take longer to develop than the activities that are part of the densification. The Crew 2 post-launch schedule also breaks down specifically what these three principles will mean for players who purchase the game. Every month, beginning with next month in July, and leading all the way through to January 2019 and potentially beyond, there will be two new cars added for players to check out.

In addition to the monthly new cars, The Crew 2 will also get major live updates every three months. This will begin in September 2018 with the first live update. Each of these major updates will include one new discipline and a new game feature. For example, we know that the September update will include the Hovercraft and a new loot system in what’s called the Gator Rush update.

This will continue with a Winter 2018 update that will include the PvP lobbies that were initially supposed to be at launch but were delayed to later this year. The third major update will be some time in Spring 2019 and we know nothing about what it will include with it. The Crew 2 will launch later this month on June 29th. In other Ubisoft-related news, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey was officially announced as another major game in what is becoming a record-breaking year for the publisher.
