One of the bigger goals to chase in The Division 2’s endgame is finding (and sometimes assembling) Exotic weapons. However, one Exotic in particular is proving to be a right pain to acquire: the Nemesis sniper rifle.
The actual process of assembling Nemesis is pretty clear-cut, but that’s not the issue. The issue is that obtaining the Nemesis assembly parts depends entirely on a randomized Stronghold system. Players are understandably upset about how this system functions and are already calling on Ubisoft to change it.
Randomized Strongholds Aren’t Working For Players

As we mentioned in our Nemesis assembly article, The Division 2’s Strongholds play a key role in finding the needed crafting parts. At one point in the process, players need to clear the three standard Strongholds not including Tidal Basin. The reason for this is that each Stronghold boss has a part needed to craft the Nemesis sniper rifle.
However, Ubisoft’s implementation of The Division 2’s Strongholds makes a seemingly cut and dry process anything but.. Based on player reports, the same Stronghold can’t be selected twice in a row, but there’s also no sequential rotation. For Redditors like Snow_Set_02, this can lead to weeks of frustrating, unnecessary waiting.
As Snow_Set_02 explains, the only Nemesis part they need is from the Capitol Building Stronghold. However, since Nemesis joined The Division 2, the Capitol Building has only been in the rotation once. This is despite the fact that Nemesis is going on three weeks old. Since there are only three non-Tidal Basin Strongholds, logic would dictate that the Capitol Building should have appeared twice. Such would have been the case if the Stronghold rotation was sequential, but alas Ubisoft went for a randomized rotation instead.
Randomized Woes
The randomized rotation wouldn’t be such a big issue if completing all the Strongholds wasn’t a required step for Nemesis. As it is, the current system feels like a pointless artificial time-gate that’s leaving players frustrated and de-motivated. Having to wait a minimum of three weeks for an Exotic weapon is annoying but tolerable. Having to potentially wait many more weeks because of a randomized system is borderline unforgivable.
Hopefully Ubisoft is listening to such feedback for The Division 2 and is planning some appropriate changes.
