The first of two planned Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Beta weekends draws to a close today, on the 16th of September. Over the last five days, PS4 owners have gotten the chance to try out a variety of multiplayer modes and maps in the upcoming game. Of course, as with every Beta, the event has also left Infinity Ward with a lot of feedback to address. In a ‘Thank You’ post on Reddit, the studio identified the most common issues and their plans to make changes.
Infinity Ward Addresses Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Beta Weekend Feedback
“Since the start of the Beta, you’ve sent us your comments, suggestions, and bugs,” writes the studio; “This week, we’ll be posting updates regarding feedback you’ve provided during the beta and information you’ll need before we jump into weekend two.”
All told, Infinity Ward has identified a long list of areas which fans have reported. This ranges from issues connecting to online services, audio issues, and graphical corruption. Some of these areas will be getting fixes relatively soon; either before the start of the second Modern Warfare Beta weekend, or by launch. That second “weekend” is due to start later this week on the 19th of September. It will be playable on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. In fact, it will be the first time that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been playable on the latter two platforms. Moreover, Infinity Ward will be enabling crossplay between all three.
The full list of feedback areas identified by Infinity Ward can be seen on their Reddit post. If you’re wondering whether issues you saw are being looked at, be sure to check for specific areas there. In the meanwhile, fans can get ready for the second Beta weekend. Just like the first weekend, the first two days will be an Early Access period which is only available to those who have pre-ordered the game. It will transition into an Open Beta for the final three days. However, because PS4 had their Early Access period during the first weekend, the second weekend will be entirely Open Beta for the PS4.
