XSEED Games has announced that The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel I and II are both heading to PS4 in early 2019. Fans can look forward to ports of these two JRPG’s in their most definitive forms yet. The original title in the Falcom-developer sub-series will be releasing as Trails of Cold Steel Decisive Edition.
Meanwhile, its sequel will be releasing on PS4 as Trails of Cold Steel II Relentless Edition. Both ports of the two JRPG’s will include a separate physical launch edition with those titles. The original game’s launch edition will include a physical copy of the game on PS4 as expected. In addition, owners will receive a collector’s coin and soundtrack CD with 21 tracks.

Moreover, the Trails of Cold Steel Decisive Edition will have all of those physical items housed in a special steel book case. Its sequel’s launch edition will have a similar set of goodies included. It will have the physical game as well as a special pin and soundtrack CD with 23 tracks. It, too, will have all of that included with a special steel book design.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel I and II originally came to PS3 and PlayStation Vita before releasing on PC later on. The PS4 version comes with some new features not included on those platforms like the ability to switch between English and Japanese voiceovers. However, don’t worry, PC players, as the Japanese voices will be added as a free patch.
Trails of Cold Steel are the latest sub-series in the renowned The Legend of Heroes JRPG franchise. It was preceded by Trails in the Sky, a series that features some of the greatest writing in the genre. Cold Steel centers around Class VII of Thors Military Academy as they navigate the political threats to the Erebonian Empire.
