When it comes to Fortnite: Battle Royale, the right vehicle can get you out of tough situations and give you an edge in a battle. With the addition of the X-4 Stormwing Plane in the seventh season of Fortnite, gameplay changed dramatically, especially in squad modes where a whole squad would board a single plane and storm unwary players. Now patch v7.10 will add the second vehicle of this season, called the Driftboard.
Fortnite’s New Vehicle Item: The Driftboard
Almost two weeks ago, Fortnite teased this new item in its promotional images for season seven.

Now the in-game news feed has confirmed that the Driftboard will be making its debut this week. The description of the item reads, “Hop on board and boost past your competition with this new single player vehicle! ”
While this new item will be added in the upcoming patch, the X-4 Stormwing Plane will also be receiving a huge nerf. Patch v7.01 modified the plane and gave it the ability to inflict 25 damage to players when it is destroyed. Still, players were not happy with this change. Now Epic Game’s community coordinator @MrPopoTFS has confirmed that the damage will be doubled in the next patch.
Update: Turns out it just got changed to 50 in v7.10. 😇

When is the new patch coming?
Fortnite’s official social media accounts have confirmed that the update will be released tomorrow at 5 AM ET(1000 UTC). Aside from the addition of the new Driftboard and the plane nerf, Epic Games will also be fixing the Zipline bugs. Ziplines are a quick way of going from one place to another, but certain network conditions make players fall from the Ziplines. Some other Ziplines bugs like inconsistent player and magnet models will also be fixed in the upcoming update. Lastly, there’s a chance that a new Limited Time Mode will also be coming to Fortnite in the next patch.
