With the big announcement that Thanos is coming to Fortnite tomorrow, a lot of fans have been wondering whether that means some of the superhero skins we are supposed to be getting in Season 4 will be Avengers-based.
Sadly, Epic Games has already responded to the question with a resounding negative. Community manager Nathan Mooney has said, “RQ just because I’ve seen lots of folks asking, we have no plans for Avengers outfits in the store.”
While it might sound logical to include Avengers skins since there is already a mashup in progress, if you think about it, this decision makes sense. Fortnite is already putting out new original skins, and they are quite cool in their own right. If a bunch of Avengers skins are suddenly introduced, how much attention would they get? Not a lot.
Now that we’re seeing a collaboration between Epic Games and the Russo brothers however, it does raise hopes that Avengers skins (or other mashups) might be available in the future. “No plans” doesn’t mean “We will never do this.” It just means that it isn’t going to happen right now.
The Infinity Gauntlet event is taking place tomorrow, May 8th. So be sure to log in and join in the action! The limited time event is free on all platforms. Who knows—maybe you’ll even be the one who finds the Infinity Gauntlet and becomes Thanos!
