Gearbox has announced that the next episode of The Borderlands Show, their periodical series about Borderlands 3, will be released later this week. Episode 7 will debut at 8:00 AM PDT / 11:00 AM EDT / 4:00 PM GMT on the 21st of May. While the show will feature a look at the upcoming Takedown mission, it will also feature the first official reveal of the third Borderlands 3 campaign DLC.
The Third Borderlands 3 DLC Reveal Later This Week
Borderlands 3 is due to receive four major campaign DLCs over the course of the year following its launch. The first of these was Moxxi’s Heist of the Handsome Jackpot, which launched late last year. The second, Guns, Love, and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright and Sir Hammerlock, released just a couple of months ago. Gearbox has yet to reveal a release date, or any details, about the third DLC. However, fans can now expect that to change on the 21st. So far, the only thing which the studio has teased is that the DLC will apparently feature dinosaur-riding outlaws…
As usual, Episode 7 of The Borderlands Show will be hosted by Greg Miller and Fran Mirabella. However, the format of the show has been altered by necessity away from the usual set to hosting from home. The hosts will be joined by Matt Cox, Creative Director of the third Borderlands 3 campaign DLC, as well as Graeme Timmins, the game’s Live Creative Director. Of course, the headline feature of the show is the DLC reveal. However, it will also feature a look at additional new content coming to Borderlands 3 over the next few months.
This content includes a major new Takedown mission, which is due to launch sometime in June. It will only be the second Takedown to come to Borderlands 3 thus far, following Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite. Gearbox have specifically confirmed that they will be showing off gameplay for this Takedown. (Which suggests that they may not be ready to show off gameplay for the DLC just yet.) Finally, the episode will reportedly feature a concept art teaser for the fourth Borderlands 3 DLC.
