Back when Bandai Namco trademarked the title “Call to Exist” in May, we never would have thought that only a few months later that a Tokyo Ghoul game would officially exist. The game is officially titled Tokyo Ghoul:re Call to Exist and was announced in the latest V-Jump, which described the new game as a survival action game within the Tokyo Ghoul franchise. While it was announced for Japan, there was no indication whether it would be coming to the West, but, thanks to Anime Expo 2018, a western release was announced by Bandai Namco.
During the event, it was also announced that the game would be coming to PC and PS4 which means it is the first game that the anime has received that will be on a console. In our opinion that’s a huge win for the franchise, though considering how popular the series is in the West we’re not too surprised Bandai Namco wants it on Sony’s powerhouse of a console as well as PC.
Unfortunately, there still isn’t a lot of information to go on from what we already covered a few weeks back. What we can say however is that Bandai Namco has promised that the game will be big and flashy, with amazing visuals like never seen before. So, for fans of the anime who may be worried about the likeness, it seems as though you (like Little Witch Academia fans) won’t have anything to worry about.
There was no talk of a release date, but as mentioned in our previous article (mentioned above) it has been said to be Winter 2018. Whether this means just for its Japan release or for the West too we’re not quite sure. What we do know, however, is that we’re excited to see what this Tokyo Ghoul game has in store for us.
