We are not that far into the PS5 era yet, but there are already a lot of phenomenal PS5 exclusives to enjoy. In this list of top PS5 exclusives, we will be sharing PlayStation exclusives that you can play on your PS5 (in other words, you may also be able to play them on PS4, depending on the game). Note that some of these are timed exclusives as well, and may eventually release on other platforms.
These are the Top PS5 Exclusives So Far
1. Deathloop
Deathloop came out in September, 2021, and enchanted gamers with its intriguing time loop mechanics and 60s aesthetics. You play an assassin who is in a time loop that is being maintained by a rival assassin. You need to find a way to break out of the time loop. Each time you die, you start the loop from the beginning.
In a Dark Souls-like fashion, another player may take control of the other assassin and change things up at any time while you are playing, which adds an element of unpredictability.
2. Horizon Forbidden West
This is the sequel to the popular open world game Horizon Zero Dawn. In this entry, you join Aloy on another exciting adventure that takes you to deserts, mountains, and even underwater areas. Not only is it yet another beautiful and exciting open world journey, but you will also appreciate the enhancements to navigation, stealth, combat mechanics, skills, controls and more.
3. Stray
In this PS4 and PS5 exclusive, you play as a cat that has fallen into a post-apocalyptic city inhabited by robots and overrun by mysterious creatures that devour everything in their path. Along the way, you meet a robot drone companion named B-12.
Stray lets you experience a world without humans from the perspective of a non-human character. With its atmospheric setting, interesting puzzles and mechanics, and lovable characters, Stray is a short but unforgettable adventure.
4. Ghostwire: Tokyo
Here is another game where you find yourself in a world without living humans. You are tasked with rescuing your sister in a version of Tokyo inhabited by spirits. Along the way, you need to help them move on. While some people criticize the mechanics of the game, it receives high praise for its tone and side quests.
5. Returnal
This third person roguelike sci-fi shooter has been a big hit since its April 2021 release. This is another game that features a time loop mechanic, which resets on the main character’s death to where she crash landed. You need to figure out what is going on and try and get out of the loop. Along the way, you will experience amazing fast-paced action. There are also a number of other game modes to enjoy, including co-op for two players.
6. The Last of Us Part 1
Finally, The Last of Us Part 1 released on September 2nd, 2022, and is a revamped version of the original game. Nothing has been changed with respect to the beloved characters and story. But the graphics, AI, facial animations, lighting, accessibility, controller options, and audio have all been updated.
Some people have asserted that a remake of The Last of Us was not needed, and have complained about the pricing. But for die-hard fans of the original game, this updated version is a must-have PS5 exclusive.
