Following today’s surprise announcement from Netflix of Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, an upcoming anime film, the company has now announced the release date of The Witcher series soundtrack Volume 1. In fact, ahead of that release, Netflix has released Jaskier’s song “Toss a Coin to Your Witcher,” as a single online.
“Toss a Coin to Your Witcher” and the Upcoming Soundtrack
As per Netflix’s announcement, Volume 1 of The Witcher soundtrack, will release later this week, on the 24th of January. However, fans of the show’s music can already get hold of one track online; “Toss a Coin to Your Witcher,” a song composed by Jaskier partway through the series which has proven incredibly popular among fans. (Of course, the song was actually composed by Giona Ostinelli and Sonya Belousova.) This track can now be found on Spotify as a separate single.
Given that only ‘Vol. 1’ of The Witcher soundtrack will be launching on the 24th, it’s currently unknown when the rest will release. (Or indeed, how many volumes there are, though 2 would seem to be a likely guess.) In other news of Netflix’s The Witcher, the company today made a somewhat surprising announcement; that there is a Witcher anime film which is currently in the works with the title of Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf. According to The Witcher’s showrunner, this film has been a well-kept secret for at least a year.
It remains to be seen when Nightmare of the Wolf, or indeed, The Witcher’s second season, will actually release. However, if you’re looking for more Witcher content; Netflix actually released the third and final episode of their behind-the-scenes Witcher podcast series earlier today. The final 40-minute episode focuses on the character of Ciri. It features actress Freya Allan, showrunner Lauren Hissrich, and other members of the production team who worked on bringing the show and its characters to life.
