A World Betrayed, the latest Chapter Pack DLC for Total War: Three Kingdoms, is now available to download. Adding in both Sun Ce and Lu Bu as playable warlords, A World Betrayed also features a brand-new campaign start in the year 194, just a few years after the start of the original game. Alongside the DLC, players can also download a major new game update and the Free-LC warlord Yan Baihu.
The New Total War: Three Kingdoms A World Betrayed DLC
A World Betrayed is the third Chapter Pack DLC to come to Total War: Three Kingdoms post-launch, following the launch of Eight Princes and Mandate of Heaven. Set in the year 194, the new campaign start picks up the timeline following the deaths of Dong Zhuo and Sun Jian. As such, their factions start led by their respective sons, Lu Bu and Sun Ce. Both of these characters feature all-new faction mechanics which make their campaigns unique. Sun Ce, for example, much constantly fight to literally keep his luck from running out, at which point he meets his untimely death!
Alongside A World Betrayed, Creative Assembly has also released a major game update which adds more than a dozen new Legendary characters. Plus, the update features a major rework for the game’s Bandit factions, granting them a new skill tree, new buildings, new faction mechanics, and more. As such, their gameplay will now be substantially different than how the other factions play.
Until now, there have only been two actual Bandit warlords available to play; Zhang Yan and Zheng Jiang. However, the Free-LC which launched alongside A World Betrayed is Yan Baihu, an all-new Bandit warlord. Featuring new units and his own approach to campaign gameplay, Yan Baihu starts in the southeastern portion of the map, an area which has typically been quite empty. He is also available to play in both the new 194 timeline start and the standard 190 start.
