Ealier today, Creative Assembly announced a major delay to the release date of Total War: Three Kingdoms. The game, which was planned to release on the 7th of March, has been delayed to the second half of May. In the development update announcing this delay, the studio reassured fans that it would not affect the upcoming Total War: Warhammer 2 DLC. However, due to the timing of the delay, this as-yet unannounced DLC will now launch before Three Kingdoms.
this will not have an effect on or delay the upcoming WARHAMMER II DLC, but this does mean that the WARHAMMER II DLC will now arrive before the release of THREE KINGDOMS.

The Three Kingdoms Delay Won’t Affect the Next Total War: Warhammer 2 DLC
It has been known for a while now that Creative Assembly is developing a new DLC for Total War: Warhammer 2. However, due to the focus on marketing the upcoming release of Total War: Three Kingdoms, the studio hasn’t yet announced anything about this DLC, even its name. The strongest theory (and hope) among fans is that it could be another DLC like ‘The Queen and the Crone’ but focusing on the Lizardmen and Skaven factions. That would presumably include a new Legendary Lord, accompanying factions, and several new units for both races. Certainly, the Lizardmen are well overdue for expansion; a fact often lamented by the game’s fans.
Supporting this theory, Creative Assembly gave fans a tease at the upcoming content in their last monthly studio update. Although they didn’t state anything specific, the wording of the section about the DLC strongly suggested that it will feature both the Lizardmen and Skaven to some extent; “It’s going to be a quiet few months from us in the Fantasy New Content Team,” they wrote; “while we scheme and plot beneath the surface. We vow to resurface soon, and then we do expect some cold-blooded and explosive content…”
In today’s development update, the studio made clear that the Three Kingdoms delay won’t affect the Total War: Warhammer 2 DLC. In fact, because of the delay, fans could end up hearing more about the DLC sooner than expected, because it will now release ahead of Three Kingdoms instead of after. As such, Creative Assembly may feel willing to release promotional content for the DLC sooner, as the need to promote Three Kingdoms has now been relaxed somewhat.
