These include a rework for Bretonnia, new Lizardmen and Skaven mechanics, and adjustments to the campaign map.
Total War: Warhammer 2 Patch Notes – What’s in the Doomsayer Update?
Tomorrow, on the 17th of April, Creative Assembly will be releasing three separate pieces of content. First and foremost is the new The Prophet and The Warlock DLC Lord pack. Alongside that is also a smaller Free-LC release which adds a new Legendary Lord and is free to download. Finally, there is the Doomsayer Update, which is a free game update. According to Creative Assembly; “Given the influx of new lords and factions over the past year, the Doomsayer Update heralds a major overhaul to campaign balance and AI behaviour, in an effort to level the playing field.”
As teased by the studio, the update will also include a faction rework for Bretonnia. This introduces a whole new Bretonnian Vows system which replaces the old system, and also removes the secondary building requirements from all units. There are five new Bretonnian techs, with changes made to many more. Changes have also been made to the Green Knight, Bretonnian diplomacy, mounts, and their campaign balance in general. Plus, Alberic D’Bordelaux finally has his iconic trident, the Wrath of Manaan!
The Doomsayer Update also brings two new mechanics to the Lizardmen and Skaven; Lord Kroak and the Under-Empire; both of which were discussed in our recent interview with Creative Assembly developers. Finally, the update makes a number of reworks to the Eye of the Vortex and Mortal Empires campaign maps. This includes the addition of several new regions, such as the Massif Orcal in Bretonnia. The Ruins of Mordheim also now appear in the Empire, allowing players to explore and settle the iconic ruined city.
