Traded Pokemon in Pokemon GO Might Become Lucky… If You’re Lucky

Niantic has added Lucky Pokemon to their mobile game, Pokemon GO. Apparently, Professor Willow has made an important new discovery and according to his research, there is a chance that when a Pokemon is traded to another player, it might become a sparkly Lucky Pokemon – what does that mean you ask? Well, let us tell you.

Lucky Pokemon require less Stardust to power up, making it easier and faster for that Pokemon to become much stronger than other monsters. If you look at the Pokemon’s info, it will even say whether or not it’s a Lucky Pokemon. The chance for a Pokemon to be of the Lucky variety will increase if the traded Pokemon has spent a long amount of time inside a trainer’s Pokemon storage. If you trade a fresh, newly-caught Pokemon to another player, it will most likely not be Lucky, unfortunately.

These Lucky Pokemon in Pokemon GO are part of an update that comes with even more special surprises. Now, if you send a gift to one of your friends, you will receive some experience points and the gift has a chance of containing some Stardust – a gift that your friends will surely appreciate.

Meanwhile, Niantic has created a three-strike policy for Pokemon GO cheaters that leads to a permanent ban. Since the launch of the game, players have been spoofing their GPS locations to catch Pokemon all around the world from the comfort of their home, making the game unfair for other players. Niantic is aware that people make mistakes so they’re giving us three chances to right our wrongs.

Since the update has been out, have you guys gotten lucky yourselves? Remember, if you’re trying to get a Lucky Pokemon, try to get your friends to trade some of their oldest Pokemon with you – there’s a higher chance that it could be a Lucky one!
