Treyarch Releases Final Black Ops 4 Zombies Experience “Tag Der Toten”
Treyarch recently launched Operation Dark Divide; the sixth season of post-launch content for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Of course, one of the most notable inclusions in this new season is Tag Der Toten; the latest and final entry in the Black Ops 4 Zombies storyline. In addition to the conclusion of the ongoing story, the experience features new mechanics, new weapons, and a new map.
Tag Der Toten: The Final Black Ops 4 Zombies Experience
Teased last week, Tag Der Toten is the final episode of the Aether Zombies story which Treyarch have been telling with their seasonal releases. Given the timing of the Operation Dark Divide launch, it seems likely that Activision plans to focus on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare once that game releases in late-October. Treyarch, meanwhile, will likely focus on developing their next title. As such, this will be the last new content pack coming for Black Ops 4 Zombies.
“‘Tag Der Toten’ takes players to the home of Group 935’s twisted experiments and the birth of zombies in the frozen wastelands of Siberia,” explains Treyarch; “As the Primis and Ultimis crews celebrate their impending victory, the Victis crew must recover one final artifact to secure Nikolai’s plans for the future. With the help of a mysterious hermit in the lighthouse, the Victis crew must brave the cliffside laboratory and subdue a sinister entity lurking in ‘Tag Der Toten.'”
The new Siberian map offers players new movement mechanics, including ziplines and platforms which will hurl players across the map. However, the zombies will make use of these as well, meaning that they can attack from unexpected directions. There are also two new Wonder Weapons; the Tundra Gun can freeze enemies, while the Wunderwaffe DG Scharfschütze is a longer-range, sniper weapon. Additionally, players can use the Matryoshka Dolls (seen in the trailer) as a form of cluster grenade.
Additionally, players can make use of a new Blaze Phase Perk. This allows you to surge through zombies and destroy every enemy in your way. There are two new Epic Elixirs too, Power Vacuum and Secret Shopper, which allows more frequent power-up spawns and the ability to buy ammo for any gun from any wall buy, respectively. Note that Secret Shopper works for Wonder Weapons too. Finally, players can now find the AN-94 and VMP in the zombies Mystery Box, and both feature new Pack-A-Punch upgrades.
