Season 3 will soon reach its conclusion in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War & Warzone, and after indicating that the end was fast approaching earlier this week, Treyarch has released their official Season 3 Outro Cinematic. The video is brief, but drops a few teasers for what’s coming in Black Ops Cold War Season 4.
The Black Ops Cold War Season 3 Outro Cinematic
Treyarch’s Season 3 Outro Cinematic for Black Ops Cold War and Warzone focuses on the game’s ongoing story; the conflict between NATO and the Warsaw Pact. (And more specifically, Perseus, the villainous faction behind the Pact who appeared in the game’s story campaign.) With each new season, Treyarch has been advancing a loose story which has seen Adler and his team combating Perseus agents, starting with Stitch in Season 1.
The Outro Cinematic reveals that Frank Woods and his team were successful in rescuing Adler, who had been captured by Perseus agent Naga. It also reveals that this outcome was anticipated, although Woods was able to achieve it faster than the Perseus agents had expected. Three agents of the villainous faction appear in the cinematic; Vikhor “Stitch” Kuzmin, Freya “Wraith” Helvig, and Roman “Knight” Grey. The only missing member was Operator Kapano “Naga” Vang, who was the one responsible for Adler’s capture. (The other Warsaw Pact Operators are not actual Perseus members.)
In the cinematic, the agents reveal that they have somebody in South Africa poised to carry out some sort of mission. This is very likely to be a teaser for another new Operator, who could very well be a fifth Perseus operative. It is also likely a teaser for the primary location of the next season. Season 2 focused on Laos, while Season 3 focused on Russia, with the introduction of maps like Duga and Yamantau. It seems that Black Ops Cold War Season 4 will now be taking the game to South Africa.
