Later today, several Bungie developers will be hosting a Destiny 2 livestream in which they’ll share some of the upcoming combat and sandbox changes that will be introduced in next month’s Forsaken expansion.
The livestream itself won’t begin until 10 a.m. PST (1 p.m. EST), but in the meantime you can watch the brief teaser that Bungie shared to help fans get hyped:
Despite its very brief runtime, the teaser trailer still contains some interesting changes for eagle-eyed viewers to spot. For one thing, the weapon loadout shown in the trailer, a loadout that includes the hand cannon Better Devils, the Escalation Protocol-exclusive IKELOS shotgun, and the recently discovered Whisper of the Worm sniper rifle, is one that players cannot currently utilize due to Destiny 2’s weapon slot restrictions. However, as we already know, Forsaken will rework how weapon slots function, providing more fluidity in which weapon types can be equipped in which slots.
The teaser also shows how only three headshots from Better Devils will be needed to kill an enemy player in Destiny 2’s Crucible PvP component, a noticeable difference from the four headshots that are currently needed. This may seem like an insignificant change in the grand scheme of things, but for Crucible enthusiasts, it’s visible proof of the quicker Crucible TTK (time to kill) that Bungie detailed last month.
The full livestream, which you can watch via Bungie’s Twitch channel, will feature Bungie community manager David “DeeJ” Dague, Forsaken sandbox design lead Josh Hamrick, senior sandbox designer Greg Peng, and senior gameplay designer Claude Jerome. It’s not yet known what will be discussed during the livestream (aside from the Crucible TTK and weapon slot changes of course), but if you’re at all interested in how Destiny 2’s combat, sandbox, and PvP components will be changing in the Forsaken expansion, chances are good that tuning in for the livestream will be well worth your time.
