Twin Mirror Gameplay Trailer Shows off Sam’s ‘Mind Palace’

You read that right, folks. A brand new Twin Mirror gameplay trailer has surfaced, showing off gameplay that we’ve yet to see. DONTNOD, the genius behind the game series Life is Strange, first showed off Twin Mirror during E3 this year. Not much is truly known, apart from that players will be following the steps of an investigative reporter, Sam Higgins.

Sam has made his way back to where he started: the small town of Basswood, West Virginia. It’s here that players will spend most of their time, trying to unlock the secrets of Sam’s past, as well as his inner struggles. Well, considering the latest trailer, it seems as though Sam is handling a lot.

Faced with his rather peppy alter-ego, The Double, players already know that Sam really isn’t all there mentally. Someone more vulgar than myself would probably say: “hey, how many balls is this guy tripping?”

On the other hand, we also get to see a closer look at Sam’s ‘Mind Palace’ in the game. Despite the unfortunate sounding name that sounds like it belongs in a Christian Gray novel, the concept is an intriguing one. In Sam’s ‘Mind Palace’, players are able to thread together bits and pieces of their investigative journey.

There’s only one problem: with a hazy memory and so many different choices to choose from, who can you really trust?

Twin Mirror, much like DONTNOD’s other game, Life is Strange, will be episodic. To some that may be disappointing, but considering the amount of suspense with cliffhangers, I personally am very excited for this episodic adventure.

For now, check out the newest gameplay trailer for yourself and see what you think of Sam Higgins and his world. Will you be stepping inside it?

Twin Mirror will be arriving on the PS4, PC and Xbox One sometime in 2019.
