Earlier today, Activision released the official cinematic for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1; the game’s first post-launch content season. Now due to launch next week following a delay, Treyarch is preparing for Season 1 with two game updates, the first of which rolled out today with two free Black Ops Cold War store bundles as a thank you to the game’s collective audience.
The New Free Black Ops Cold War Bundles
“To thank everyone for their patience as we make the final preparations for Season One,” writes Treyarch; “we’re gifting free personalization items to all Black Ops Cold War players in one Pre-Season offer!”
These items come in the form of two new store bundles; the Field Research Bundle and the Certified Bundle. You don’t need to find these items in the store, however. Instead, you simply need to log into the game anytime from today until the start of Season 1. Presumably, the bundles will then be available to buy in the store as normal. These two bundles contain the following cosmetic items and blueprints:
- “Certified” Bundle
- Epic Operator Skin (Park)
- Epic SMG Weapon Blueprint
- Epic Reticle
- Epic Calling Card
- Rare Weapon Charm
- “Field Research” Bundle
- Epic Operator Skin (Garcia)
- Rare Assault Rifle Weapon Blueprint
- Epic Reticle
- Epic Weapon Charm
The update itself which launched earlier today is primarily focused on stability and performance. Indeed, the patch notes themselves are very short, citing only a couple of bug and crash fixes along with; “general stability improvements”. This is the first of two updates planned to launch before the start of Season 1, the second of which will be rolling out on the 15th of December, the day before the new season gets underway.
Finally, Treyarch also announced the start of another 2XP & 2WXP weekend, which begins tomorrow. This weekend event will feature the arrival of a new Motherland Moshpit playlist. This list includes the Domination, Hardpoint, Kill Confirmed, and Team Deathmatch modes on Crossroads Strike and Moscow.
