How to Unlock the New Borderlands 3 Revenge of the Cartels Cosmetics
With the launch yesterday of Revenge of the Cartels, Borderlands 3 players have plenty of new content to sink their teeth into. Alongside the new Cartel enemies, trips to the Villa Ultraviolet, and all-new boss fights, however, there is also a range of new event cosmetics to unlock. The primary way to get your hands on these is by completing a series of event challenges before Revenge of the Cartels ends on the 4th of June.
Borderlands 3 Revenge of the Cartels Event Cosmetics
Of course, the new Revenge of the Cartels features plenty of new loot items for players to unlock. Indeed, the new Loot the Universe event is also currently live, giving players a better chance of getting loot drops on certain planets (Pandora this week). However, there are five specific new event cosmetics which you won’t get in loot drops. Just like in the Bloody Harvest seasonal event, these are only available as challenge rewards.
Overall, Revenge of the Cartels features 18 new Challenges which players can find on the Event tab of the ECHO Device menu. This tab also allows you to track your current progress on completing the new challenges. Rather than unlocking as rewards for specific challenges, the new cosmetics unlock as rewards for completing a set number. For instance, you’ll earn the first one after completing any three of the challenges. The specific cosmetic rewards, and the number of completed challenges needed to unlock them, are as follows:
- 3 Challenges Complete: “VECH-tor Graphics” ECHO Device Skin
- 6 Challenges Complete: “Retro Outrunner” Weapon Trinket
- 10 Challenges Complete: “Framed Firewall” Room Decoration
- 14 Challenges Complete: “Hotline Pandora” Vault Hunter Head
- 18 Challenges Complete: “Death by Filigrees” Vault Hunter Skin
Of course, once the Revenge of the Cartels event ends on the 4th of June, these challenges will become unavailable. (And nor will their cosmetic rewards.) Since the conclusion of Bloody Harvest, Gearbox has given players a couple of opportunities to get the old challenge-reward cosmetics. However, there was a significant wait after the end of the event. As such, if you want to get your hands on these items, you should endeavour to complete the event challenges ASAP.
