Following on from last week’s Battlefield 5 weekly challenge, DICE is giving players the chance to win a second new Battlefield 5 airplane. This week’s reward is the Ju-88C Airplane. Smaller than the Mosquito, which featured as last week’s challenge reward, the Ju-88C is a powerful ground attack plane. Players can fit it with a 75mm anti-tank cannon, or destructive ‘Butterfly Bombs’. “Nasty little bomblets that descend slowly and can be used to suppress and hurt enemy infantry in a large area,” explains DICE; “These mines should be especially useful in assisting friendly ground troops in taking and defending objectives or choke points.”
How to Unlock the Ju-88C, the New Battlefield 5 Airplane
To unlock the latest new Battlefield 5 airplane, players will need to complete the second weekly challenge of the Unstoppable Force event; the final event of Lightning Strikes, the second Tides of War chapter. Earlier today, DICE released a new trailer for the upcoming Firestorm mode, which is the headline feature of Chapter 3; Trial by Fire. The mode is due to release on the 24th of March, most likely coinciding with the start of Trial by Fire.
Battlefield 5 Weekly Challenge: Objectives 1-6
- Fire for Effect: Your first objective for this week’s Weekly Challenge is very simple. You just need to kill 5 enemies. For the purpose of this objective, assists count as kills, making it even easier.
- Puffball: For this objective, you need to deploy smoke 5 times. Both the Recon and Medic class have access to smoke of one sort or another, but the objective also counts smoke deployed from any vehicle.
- Dirty Work: To complete this objective, you need to score 2,500 points as a Medic or Support. For this one, focus on the class’ special abilities. Revive your teammates as a Medic, build Fortifications as a Support, and deploy crates as either class, and you should quickly accrue enough points.
- Glory Hounds: Conversely to Dirty Work, this objective requires you to score 2,500 points as an Assault or Recon. For these two classes, focus more on scoring kills, although the Recon can also mark targets and earn points that way.
- Firebug: This short objective requires you to arm 1 objective in either the Airborne, Frontlines, or Rush game mode. You’ll need to be on the attacking team for this, and focus on playing the objective. Fortunately, it doesn’t matter whether your objective gets disarmed afterwards.
- Motor Pool: For this objective, your squad needs to request 5 Reinforcement vehicles. If you’re not the squad leader, this objective is most easily done in a squad with people you can communicate with. That way, you can coordinate to call in the right Reinforcements. Any of the Reinforcement vehicles will do.
Battlefield 5 Weekly Challenge: Objectives 7-12
- Nerves of Steel: After arming an objective in Firebug, this objective requires you to defuse 3 objectives. Naturally, you’ll need to be playing the Airborne, Frontlines, or Rush mode to do this, and playing on the defending team. Once again, focus on the objective as much as possible to get the most chances to defuse.
- Spearhead: For this objective, you need to deal 500 damage while you’re in a vehicle. You can complete this objective in any vehicle from which you can deal damage, so feel free to use a tank, airplane, or something else.
- Bring it Down: On the other hand to Spearhead, Bring it Down requires you to deal 250 damage to vehicles. Try playing an Assault or Support and making use of their anti-tank armaments. Of course, you can also deal that damage with a vehicle of your own.
- Accomplished Arsonist: While Firebug only required you to arm 1 objective in Airborne, Frontlines, or Rush, this objective requires you to destroy 2 objectives. That means you need to both arm the objectives and then ensure that they detonate. As such, you’ll need to guard the area and prevent enemies from defusing it.
- Thick as Thieves: For this objective, you must either revive or resupply your squad mates 25 times. This objective is obviously much easier if you play as a Medic or Support. Support may be the easier way to go, as you won’t need to wait for opportunities to revive; you can simply resupply at any time.
- A-Team: For the final objective, you and your squad need to get 200 kills or kill assists. Although this is a hefty objective, a well-coordinated team should be able to pull it off. Be sure to work together and play aggressively to rack up kills as quickly as possible.
