Bethesda recently issued a public statement via Reddit promising better communication between the studio and fans. As part of that promise, Bethesda will be publishing weekly updates on their website, a series called; “Fallout 76: Inside the Vault.” The first of these articles is now out, and it details two major upcoming Fallout 76 patches. Additionally, Bethesda has promised to address the huge size of their patches going forward.
Two Upcoming Fallout 76 Patches Detailed by Bethesda
Opening the first article of the new series, Bethesda thanks the fans who have been supportive and enjoyed Fallout 76 while also acknowledging that there are problems; “We understand there are also a number of frustrating issues,” says the studio; “We want you to know that we’re committed to rolling out fixes and features on a regular basis, and implementing changes based on your feedback.”
The focus of this first Inside the Vault article is two upcoming patches. Bethesda has already released several major patches for the game, but it seems that these next two will be addressing some of the biggest bugs and player concerns. The first of these two will release on the 4th of December. The first thing to note about this patch is that it will increase the in-game Stash limit, something players have been asking for since the BETA. It will only increase the limit from 400 to 600 for now, but Bethesda says; “We plan to increase the storage cap further once we verify that this change will not negatively impact the stability of the game.”
The next aspect of the first patch is a change to boss loot. Players will now receive 2-3 items from bosses instead of just 1. The Cryolator has also had an enormous debuff, with the speed penalty it applies reduced from a 2-hour effect to just 30 seconds. When it comes to bugs, the patch will fix a bug which prevented players from spawning anywhere but Vault 76 when over-encumbered; such players will now be able to spawn at their nearest map marker too. Finally, it will introduce a fix for one of the biggest bugs in the game at present, the Power Armour bug.
The Second of the Upcoming Fallout 76 Patches
The second upcoming patch will launch one week later on the 11th of December. This will bring some key additions to PC, including a push-to-talk option for the in-game voice chat, support for 21:9 resolution, and FOV settings. The update will also introduce a major change with the addition of a SPECIAL Respec option. Essentially, once players reach level 50, they will be able to move an allocated SPECIAL point from one stat to another instead of gaining new Perk Cards. The patch will also bring two key changes to C.A.M.P.s. The first is that players will no longer have to pay to rebuild their camp from a blueprint if they enter a server where somebody’s C.A.M.P. is already occupying the same space; instead, rebuilding the C.A.M.P. will be free.
Finally, the 11th of December patch will add a new Bulldozer feature to the C.A.M.P. tools; “This is a new C.A.M.P. feature that will allow you to remove small trees, rocks, and other obstructions so it’s easier to create and place your C.A.M.P. when and where you want it.”
