Vampyr, the gothic action-RPG developed by Dontnod Entertainment, was originally released back in June of this year. The game received near-universal praise for its story and voice acting, and sold extremely well at launch; the game was the top-selling game during its launch week across all platforms in the UK, Germany, and France. Although reviewers criticised its combat system and difficulty, Dontnod recently released two new story modes in a free update which aim to address these concerns. Now, according to Focus Home Interactive’s latest sales report, the game may be making its way to the Nintendo Switch.
Vampyr is Coming to the Nintendo Switch
Vampyr is currently available on PC and on both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. However, it could be coming to Nintendo’s console as well at some point in the near future according to its publisher, Focus Home Interactive. The company recently released its latest sales report, which documents its H1 revenue for the fiscal year of 2018/2019. Overall, the company reports a 33% increase in revenue during that time; record-breaking sales which the company highlights as being driven primarily by Vampyr.

“After the successful launch of Vampyr where the game topped the charts in France, the UK, Germany, and in many other countries,” says Focus Home Interactive; “Dontnod’s game enjoyed tremendous success throughout the second quarter. With praise heaped on it for its production and script, Vampyr is a further confirmation, after MudRunner and The Surge in 2017, of the Group’s ability to create a major event with games that combine unprecedented concepts and high-potential universes.”
Further on, the report turns to the next quarter of 2018/19. According to Focus Home Interactive; “In Q3, the Group will continue to maximise the potential of the Vampyr license. After the game’s impressive success on PC, Xbox One and PS4, it will be Nintendo Switch’s turn to welcome the Dontnod title to reach an even wider audience.”
The report doesn’t give any further details on when a Nintendo Switch port of Vampyr might appear. However, given that the reference comes in the section looking at Q3; fans can probably expect to see it in the next few months. No doubt Dontnod Entertainment will have a formal announcement once they have a better idea of when it will be available.
