Vampyr Will Receive Two Additional Difficulty Modes Later This Summer

Vampyr will be receiving two additional difficulty modes for players to sink their teeth into later this summer. DontNod Entertainment announced this morning that its narrative-driven action RPG revolving around vampires will be getting a new major content update later this summer for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. More details other than optimization tweaks weren’t given on what the summer update will entail but we do know that it will feature the two new difficulty modes.

The two new modes will add further replayability for those who have already dived into the dark adventure and more options for newcomers who haven’t had a chance to check it out yet. The first of the two modes is the story mode. This one is, as the name states, focused on players who want to simply enjoy the moody and atmospheric narrative that DontNod has crafted.

The story mode difficulty option will have less challenging combat so that players can simply enjoy the story and not worry about dying too much from the difficulty. The other additional mode is Hard mode. Hard mode will make the difficulty much more challenging. Controversially, enemies will give players less experience in this difficulty option so players will have to rely on devouring the citizens’ blood in order to keep up.

No specific release date was given for the Vampyr summer update but we suspect that it will most likely be sometime next month. In the meantime, the game is 25 percent off on Steam. While you wait for the update to arrive soon, check out our other recent posts about how the game’s sales have performed thus far after only one month since its initial release as well as the latest patch for the game. Vampyr originally released for PC, PS4, and Xbox One last month on June 5, 2018.
