For quite some time now, there has been fierce debate among the Valorant community as to the most effective and efficient weapon to use in the game. Generally speaking, the top two contenders in that debate are the Phantom and the Vandal, but Riot may have actually settled this argument… at least for now. According to the studio, it was the Vandal which proved to be the deadliest Valorant weapon in 2020.
The Deadliest Valorant Weapon in 2020
The news comes via a “Global Stat Sheet” which was released by the official Valorant Twitter account earlier today. The sheet, which tracks several key stats in the game throughout 2020, starts with Valorant’s deadliest weapon. While it doesn’t reveal the exact number of kills that each weapon scored, it does state the top three deadliest weapons. The Spectre came in at #3, while the top two spots were reserved for the long-contentious assault rifles; the Phantom and the Vandal. Ultimately, it was the latter which came out on top.
It’s unclear from the Stat Sheet just how far ahead the Vandal was from its rival. Given the split opinions regarding the two weapons, it wouldn’t be surprising if it was very close between the two. However, now that the Vandal has been confirmed to be the “deadliest” weapon, some adherents of the Phantom may wish to consider using it more. Of course, its deadliness may not stay on top for long. After all, it’s entirely possible that Riot could tweak their weapons again in an upcoming patch. If the Vandal performed too well against its rivals this year, it may be due for a slight nerf.
Another statistic revealed by the Stat Sheet was the longest Valorant match that took place in 2020. According to the sheet, this match took 1 hour and 28 minutes and lasted for a whopping 58 rounds! This incredibly long match took place on the Ascent map.
