It’s Wander Franco MLB The Show 21 week, as the baseball video game celebrates the Tampa Bay Rays’ young star in the making. They are currently offering a limited-time boost for one of his items in the game, allowing gamers to upgrade it to a 99 overall card. However, it won’t be free or quick as it requires a bit of a grind. Here’s how to get his Prospect card in Diamond Dynasty as a 99 OVR.
What is the Wander Franco MLB The Show 21 Prospect item?
On Tuesday, the Tampa Bay Rays officially called prospect Wander Franco up to the roster, making his MLB debut. That means all eyes will be on the 20-year-old, who is amongst the most-hyped prospects in baseball in recent history. Tampa Bay was set to host the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night with MLB.TV giving free coverage of his first game as a professional.
In conjunction with his call-up to The Show, there’s a Wander Franco MLB The Show 21 promotion going on. They dubbed it “Wander Week” and gave a limited-time 99 OVR boost to his Prospect card.
While heโs yet to prove himself in the big league, his card for The Show is impressive. It brings Diamond Hitting and Defense to the field. He’s a switch hitter and can play at his main position, shortstop, and second base.
Amongst his top attributes are 112 Contact Right, 100 Contact Left, 89 Power Right, 101 Vision, 93 Discipline, and 94 CLT. On defense, heโs got 92 Arm Strength, 90 Accuracy, 87 Fielding, and 86 Reaction. Add in an 84 Speed, and this will benefit many Diamond Dynasty squads.
Itโs worth noting that the reward item will not be one that can be sold. However, there is also a Prospect Wander Franco item available at Community Marketplace which came from the Space 1 choice pack. That particular card is able to be bought and sold.
How to get his Prospect item in Diamond Dynasty mode
To get that Wander Franco MLB The Show 21 item, you’ll need to complete a set of specific Moments in Diamond Dynasty mode. Each one will bring MLB The Show Stubs along with it. Completing all five of the Moments listed below will get the Wander Franco card.
- Tally one hit (200 Stubs)
- Hit one home run (325 Stubs)
- Tally four total bases (275 Stubs)
- Get two hits and one extra-base hit (300 Stubs)
- Tally 10 total bases over the course of three games (500 Stubs)
The promotion will last for the next week, so gamers have until Tuesday, June 29, to complete the above Moments and get that 99 over Wander Franco item for their DD rosters. That seems like more than enough time to complete the above Moments and earn a great addition to the lineup!
