Following the conclusion of the second Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Beta, Infinity Ward has released the first of two planned premieres; the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare story trailer. While the game’s first trailer gave fans a glimpse of that story, this trailer offers a much deeper look into what’s to come for Modern Warfare’s story campaign.
The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Story Trailer
The first full Call of Duty: Modern Warfare story trailer doesn’t reveal much in the way of details regarding the upcoming story. Rather, it gives fans a series of snippets which tease what the story might involve; chemical weapons, civil warfare, and so on. It also introduces several of the story’s major characters, most of whom had been unknown until today. After all, the only character to have been clearly shown in trailers until now was Captain Price. Beyond the game’s cast, the trailer gives an extended look at the fictional setting of Urzikstan; a country created by Infinity Ward to be a key setting for the game. Although, Urzikstan will not be its only setting, as the trailer’s description teases.
“In a desperate mission, Captain Price and the SAS will partner alongside the CIA and the Urzikstani Liberation Force to retrieve stolen chemical weapons,” reads the description; “The heart-racing fight will take you from London to the Middle East and other global locations, as this joint task force battles to stop full-scale global war. Lines will be drawn, your resolve will be tested, and the world will look to you to do what needs to be done.”
The release of the Modern Warfare story trailer is the first of two premieres which Infinity Ward has on their roadmap to launch. The second is a premiere for the game’s Special Operations. This second reveal is due to occur sometime in the week starting on the 7th of October. It’s currently unknown whether the studio has any additional plans between now and launch.
