Warhammer: Vermintide 2’s Shadows over Bogenhafen DLC Now Available

Earlier this month, Warhammer: Vermintide 2 developer Fatshark unveiled the game’s first piece of paid DLC, a brand new adventure pack called Shadows over Bogenhafen. Now, Vermintide 2 players who are looking for more opportunities to slay the villainous Skaven and Chaos forces can download and play the new content that’s included in the Shadows over Bogenhafen DLC.

Bogenhafen is as beautiful as it is deadly.

According to this official information page over on the Vermintide website, Shadows over Bogenhafen’s main draw is the two brand new levels that players can venture through. The two levels, known as ‘The Pit’ and ‘The Cleansing,’ tie into a new story thread involving the titular mercantile town of Bogenhafen which is being besieged by the forces of Plague Lord Nurgle. It seems Bogenhafen is also the current resting place of the Blightreaper, a legendary Chaos runesword whose power Nurgle wants to seize for himself. The only way players can foil Nurgle’s plans is to find the Blightreaper first and find some way to destroy it.

Along with the two new adventure levels, Shadows over Bogenhafen also includes a healthy dose of new ancillary features such as new challenges and quests, and new cosmetic rewards like hats, weapon skins, portrait frames, and more. In a press release heralding the DLC’s announcement, Fatshark CEO Martin Wahlund also said that Shadows over Bogenhafen should appeal to new and experienced Vermintide 2 players alike:

“After the huge success with the release of Warhammer: Vermintide 2 we remain focused on supporting the game with new content and experiences. Shadows over Bogenhafen adds even more compelling content that should challenge and satisfy even the most hardened players, we’re really excited to announce its launch today on PC.”

Shadows over Bogenhafen can be purchased now for the PC version of Vermintide 2 at a $9.99 price point, with console releases set to follow shortly.
