The Marching Fire expansion for For Honor is now live and it has received a suitably epic launch trailer. The trailer highlights the expansion’s major features, including the free additions available to all players.
For Honor Marching Fire Launch Trailer
Full access to the Marching Fire expansion is locked behind a one-time $30 purchase. However, even those who don’t pony up for the expansion can enjoy its new 4v4 Breach game mode. In Breach, one team defends a massive keep while the other team besieges it. If the besieging team breaches the gates, the match culminates in an epic close-quarters showdown with the keep’s NPC lord. The defenders, meanwhile, need to either destroy the attackers’ battering ram or deplete their stock of lives. Dynamic elements such as archer stands and oil cauldrons can also influence the match.
All players also naturally benefit from the graphical upgrades included in Marching Fire. All of For Honor’s characters and maps have gotten a visual overhaul that improves textures and ups graphical fidelity. You can see some of these visual improvements in real time via the trailer below.
Purchasing the expansion, meanwhile, grants early access to the Wu Lin faction, four new heroes hailing from Ancient China. The four new heroes will become available for individual purchase using in-game currency, but not until October 30. Those who purchase Marching Fire can also access the new solo/co-op Arcade mode. Thanks to its randomized enemy compositions, modifiers, and objectives, Arcade mode offer “infinite replayability” in Ubisoft’s own words.
If you don’t already own For Honor, Ubisoft is offering a special “Marching Fire Edition” of the game for $60. As you might expect, the new edition includes the full base game and the Marching Fire expansion. Ubisoft has made a few missteps with For Honor recently, so here’s hoping Marching Fire gets things back on track.
