Pokemon GO is undeniably one of the most popular mobile video games right now, with millions of players and dollars in revenue. Niantic, the developer studio behind the success of the title has been diligent with their updates, bringing PvP, Raids and frequent events to Pokemon GO over the past year. However, progress never stops and so do mobile games as well. What else do we want to see in the mobile game? We’ve scratched our heads and came out with a few things that we’d want to see.
First up, we have Hubs. It’s truth that even though Pokemon GO has come a long way, we still can’t go over the fact that we can’t meet and interact with other players. In reality, hubs wouldn’t even have to exist in the sense we know them. In video games, we see hubs present just for chatting reasons, something that the game can’t take use of since trainers can talk in real life when meeting at the same place.
However, how cool would it be if those players could meed at a hub where they could trace TMs or boosts or even Pokemon without the use of the friend feature. There could even be a hub where you can store pokemon, or heal them just like the classic games. This could strengthen the community and have trainers create hotspots where they’d meet and feel like they’re in a real Pokemon world.
Another thing that the game could take a great use of is Badge battles. The gym battles in the game are entirely different than what we remember from the classic Pokemon games. Pokemon was always about collecting badges and that’s something we miss in the mobile AR game. Continuing the hub suggestion, it would be awesome if certain leagues would happen at certain times in a specific spot where trainers could battle AI or even other players to obtain badges. Those badges could be region specific, element or even CP related. In any case, we’d love to see that happen.
The last suggestion we could think of for Pokemon GO comes from its brother title, Pokemon Let’s GO. In the Nintendo Switch game, trainers can battle Master NPC trainers to gain mastery over one specific pokemon. We’d love to see that happening in the mobile game as well. There’s a huge variety of Pokemon now available in the game. It’s only natural that players will take on the road again to find and master all trainers in the game.
These are all the things I personally would love to see in Pokemon GO in the future. In fact, most players would even if there’s no way of intergrating them in it. Feel free to join us in the VGR forum and let us know what you think. What other suggestions do you have? Happy hunting trainers!
