What to Expect From Black Ops Cold War’s New Endurance Mode

With the launch of tomorrow’s Season One Reloaded update for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, the game will be getting a brand-new game mode called Endurance. This new 40-player mode offers a different experience to other modes of that size; 10 teams of 4 competing to arm nuclear bombs.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War – Endurance Mode

The new Endurance game mode – available in-game from the 4th of February – is coming as part of a larger Season One update which also includes Firebase Z. Aside from that new Zombies map, however, Endurance is certainly the biggest new inclusion. Most importantly, the mode gives players something different to do on Black Ops Cold War’s largest maps. While there is plenty of variety in the 6v6 range, the 40-player maps have relatively few game modes available. Namely, the maps available will be Alpine, Ruka, and Sanatorium.

What to Expect Black Ops Cold War Endurance Mode 2

In Endurance, players will compete as members of 10 four-person teams, and the mode is all about bombs and uranium. Your primary goal is to collect uranium and then use it to detonate a bomb. Doing so will earn you points, and the score limit has gone up from the usual 500 to 1,000. However, unlike plenty of other objective-based game modes, Endurance doesn’t have just one bomb which all the players will be fighting over. Instead, there are five bombs at any given time. Every time a bomb is detonated, another will automatically appear, ensuring that five are always available.

According to Activision, this design will allow for; “more opportunities for insane vehicle plays, more late-game comebacks, and more chances to complete those elusive Dark Ops and Operator Skin challenges”. Whatever the case, the mode will be available for players to try out very soon. The next Season One Reloaded update, containing Endurance, is due to launch tomorrow, on the 4th of February.
