Alongside the new Season 4 Reloaded update which recently rolled out in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, players have gotten access to another new map; Cheshire Park. This new 6v6 map is set in the heart of London, in and around an urban garden conservatory and park.
Modern Warfare Season 4 Maps: Cheshire Park
The asymmetric layout of the new Modern Warfare Cheshire Park map is based around three lanes. Players can either push along the north or south borders of the map, which follow two open streets, or go through the central park itself. While the map’s three-lane setup is relatively standard, the map’s buildings are more open than many others. As such, moving between lanes (and firing from one into another) may be easier than on other maps. On Cheshire Park, Coalition players will spawn at the fish & chip shop on the west side of the map. Allegiance players, meanwhile, spawn at the Cask & Dragon pub on the map’s eastern side.
Players aiming to push along the north or south streets may find long-range play-styles at an advantage here. Both streets are relatively straight and open, allowing sight-lines for snipers. This is particularly true of the southern street, as there are more vehicles providing cover in the northern route. The park, on the other hand, is a much more close-range part of the map, with many low walls, corners, and other forms of cover available.
Grenades and other thrown explosives are very well-suited for Cheshire Park. Much of the map is open, allowing players to throw grenades relatively easily, and even into other lanes. Plus, while there are some interior sections, most of the buildings have wide, open windows which grenades can be thrown through. As such, players may wish to avoid hunkering down for too long. Staying mobile may be a better strategy, utilising perks for speed and mid-to-close-range combat.
