Shipment, one of the best-known classic maps from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, is now available to play in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare as part of its second Season One content update. Prior to the addition of Gunfight, Shipment was the smallest map in Call of Duty history, and so it’s no surprise to see it feature as both a core multiplayer map and a Gunfight map. Now that it’s available to play, here’s everything you need to know about the Modern Warfare Shipment map.
The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Shipment Map
While the layout may be mostly the same, Shipment has, of course, had a major visual overhaul. Plus, its setting has changed somewhat, as it’s now located in Verdansk. Anybody who played this map’s first incarnation will have a rough idea of what to expect, but for those unfamiliar, this map is very small. As such, expect frenetic, short-range shooting pretty much anywhere you go. It has only three zones, Centre, Container Wall, and Van, and a symmetrical, square layout. While Allegiance players spawns at the Container Wall, the Coalition spawns opposite at the Van.
Because of its size and condensed layout, Shipment provides very few opportunities for long-range sniping. Instead, speed and short-range firepower excel here, be it via shotguns or SMGs. However, it’s worth noting that Light Machine Guns occupy a valuable niche on this map; their bullets can penetrate the walls of shipping containers, helping to flush enemies into the open. Aerial killstreaks are extremely deadly on this map too, as there is only a single place where players can get cover; a shipping container near the Container Wall.
