What to Expect in Call of Duty: Warzone’s New Power Grab Mode

Season 3 Reloaded has arrived for both Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War, and with it, Treyarch has begun the new ’80s Action Heroes event. As part of this event, Warzone has gotten a new landmark, as well as a new game mode; Power Grab.

Call of Duty: Warzone – Power Grab

“Eliminate enemy Operators and collect their Dog Tags for devastating rewards in this fast-paced, explosive limited-time mode,” writes Activision, of the new mode. Like much of the new content launching as part of ’80s Action Heroes, Power Grab emphasises dramatic, frenetic combat. (With no shortage of explosions.) Like regular battle royale, Power Grab is a battle to be the last squad standing. However, the rules leading up to that point are rather different.

Call of Duty Warzone Power Grab Mode 2

First up, Power Grab features 100 players, and only five stages as the circle shrinks. This means that squads will need to move faster, but will also be more likely to frequently run into enemies. Perhaps one of the biggest changes is that the Gulag is disabled in this mode. The only way for players to revive is if their squadmates revive them at a Buy Station, or if you can earn a Respawn Token for yourself. You can do this by collecting Dog Tags, which are dropped by every player when they die. As such, not only will players need to take down their rivals, but will also need to collect their Dog Tags from wherever they fall.

The more Dog Tags you earn, the better rewards you can earn. These rewards can appear in Supply Boxes or are acquired as rewards for completing Contracts. The 9 available rewards are as follows:

  • 1 Dog Tag: UAV
  • 2 Dog Tags: Heavy Weapon Crate
  • 3 Dog Tags: Respawn Token
  • 4 Dog Tags: Cluster Strike
  • 5 Dog Tags: Armor Satchel
  • 6 Dog Tags: Advanced Gas Mask
  • 7 Dog Tags: Precision Airstrike
  • 8 Dog Tags: Specialist Bonus
  • 9 Dog Tags: Advanced UAV
