The majority of the Metro Exodus suit upgrades can be found in the Volga; the game’s first open-world region. You can find eight upgrades in total around the various camps and other sites in the marshland. Once you find all of these, there are still five suit upgrades for you to collect. Fortunately, these can all be found in the second open-world region; the Caspian. If you miss any of the suit upgrades, they may appear in later levels.
All of the Metro Exodus Suit Upgrades to Find in the Caspian
Unlike the upgrades found in the Volga, the Caspian upgrades won’t appear during the course of the story. As such, you’ll need to go out of your way to track them down. Some of them, like the Extra Bright Flashlight, are particularly useful for things that you’ll be doing in the Caspian. As such, you may wish to collect them all quickly before progressing with the story.
- Armoured Glass: The Armoured Glass upgrade is a short distance into the darker brown part of the map, due west of the lighthouse. Here, you’ll find a narrow canyon which runs westward which is home to a number of enemies. Once you’ve cleared them out, climb the ladder at the back of the canyon to enter a small cave. The Armoured Glass is on a box to the right of a Workbench.
- Consumables Carrier: The next upgrade is located far to the southeast, close to the shore of the sea at the southern end of the bay. As you follow the road which begins to curve northeast, take a detour down a dusty track leading to the sea. Ahead of you is a shallow cave, containing a Workbench and the Consumables Carrier upgrade.
- Extra Bright Flashlight: The Extra Bright Flashlight is inside a small rusty boat. You can find this boat just slightly southwest of the lighthouse. In fact, the boat is conveniently close if you want to recover the upgrade before you descend into the lighthouse bunker. Be careful as you enter the boat, however, as there is a trip mine inside.
- Motion Scanner: When you first begin the Caspian level, you will recover a car outside of the ruins of a restaurant. As you drive towards the lighthouse for the first time, you will likely drive down and under a large shipwreck, about halfway between the restaurant and the lighthouse. This shipwreck is an enemy camp, and the Motion Scanner is on a table near the end of this area.
- NVD Amplifier: The final upgrade is in an air control tower near the southeast corner of the map; on the edge of the area marked with an ‘H’. Inside the ruined building, climb up to the top floor and you’ll find a ruined control room behind a gate. The NVD Amplifier is sitting on a chair here.
