Battlefield V Tides of War is a new type of service coming along with the release of the awaited upcoming Battlefield title, set in World War 2. A few days before EA’s E3 2018 showcase where Battlefield V will get its fair share of spotlight, we theorize about potential battles that happened during World War 2 and could be featured in the game.
Battle of France, 10 May–25 June 1940
We already knew that France will be a place where battles will take place in Battlefield V. The Battle of France is one of the bloodiest. With almost half a billion casualties, the Battle of France marked the end of the so-called Phoney War — that strange, uncertain period of the Second World War which saw neither side commit to serious military action.
Battle of Moscow, 2 October 1941–7 January 1942
Undeniably, one of the biggest powers during World War 2 was the Soviet Union. Interestingly, their successful defense of their capital, Moscow resulted to a one billion casualty count, marking it one of the most unfortunate battles during the war.
Battle of Stalingrad, 23 August 1942–2 February 1943
You already know the battle of Stalingrad from Medal of Honor. However, how could would it be to be able to relive the battle with top notch graphics in Battlefield V Tides of War? The Stalingrad Battle is appointed the bloodies battle during the war with almost 2 billion casualties, most of which are non army units defending the city.
Battle of Crete – May 1941
Greece played a huge role during World War 2 and it would not be too surprising if we see the country featured in Battlefield V Tides of War in some way. Crete was defended by British and Greek forces who had some success against the lightly armed German soldiers jumping out of the sky. However, the tide turned when Germans too the aerial superiority resulting to Allies surrendered after two weeks of fighting.
D-Day – June 6, 1944
The largest amphibious operation in history involved more than 5,000 ships landing Allied troops on a heavily-defended 50-mile stretch of Normandy coastline, while thousands more took part in an airborne assault. Featured in games, movies and more, the D-Day battle deserves a spot in Battlefield V Tides of War even if it was featured in Call of Duty: WW2 last year.
Which other battles do you think could fit the upcoming Battlefield title?
