We might have been impressed by every new addition to the DOOM franchise the developers brought to DOOM Eternal, but some people find them offensive. There is plenty of stuff for people to be mad about the game, indeed. However, this time they concentrated their rage on specific lines of the official gameplay trailer that was showcased during QuakeCon 2018.
When we say “people”, we mean the Social Justice Warriors who once again found something to criticize. They took one line from the gameplay reveal of DOOM Eternal and translated it into something “racist.” The line in question is the following:
“Remember, ‘demon’ can be an offensive term. Refer to them as ‘mortally challenged.”
That line came from a hologram of an AI, but it was enough for the Social Justice Warriors to find it politically incorrect.
It appears part of the game involves humanity allowing demons to immigrate to earth, ;D and they destroy the world. An AI read this quote out during the reveal gameplay. 'Remember demon can be an offensive term. Refer to them as mortally challenged' https://t.co/kdlnVSHl4x

The game was also accused of “lampooning ‘politically correct terminology.” Is that not obvious?
Lampooning 'political correct terminology' by having a happy-go-lucky hologram announcer saying
'Demon may be considered offensive, the correct term is 'mortally challenged!'.

Of course, that was not the only line that triggered all the enraged comments. Another interesting one that has them on pins and needles is this:
“Earth is the melting pot of the Universe!”
I think it is clear why:
I watched the gameplay for the new 'Doom' game and i can't be the only who noticed the very obvious anti-immigration rhetoric right? Juxtaposing political announcements like 'Earth is the melting pot of the Universe!' with images of a Hell blasted Earth, overrun by demons.

On the other hand, many fans found all these tweets hilarious. They replied with exciting statements and facts about the game.
I was really looking forward to this but now I am not sure if I can support the game in good conscience.
Some people say that SJW's and political correctness Have ruined gaming but I start to get the feeling that Doom eternal might be the first where the opposite is true.— Stefan Beyron (@StefanBeyron) August 11, 2018
Some of them even had excellent points, making the Social Justice Warriors seem like complete ignorants who know nothing about the DOOM lore. After all, the game’s background can justify everything showcased during DOOM Eternal’s gameplay reveal readily.
Here's the thing. If you actually get offended about Doom calling Demons "Mortally Challenged," you are tacitly admitting that your whole "politically correct" ideology is just junk, and therefore easily mocked.
In short, you recognized your own BS and got mad someone showed you https://t.co/umlbZoRjXc

When it comes to DOOM, there will always be criticism over anything about it. In the past, the game was linked with the Columbine shooting. Religious people and the church also rebuked it because of its content. Every time a new DOOM title gets announced, there will always be someone who will find something to criticize. All the above can make you laugh more than make you angry, that is for sure.
