As E3 draws closer and fans get more and more excited for the inevitable news of Cyberpunk 2077, now looks to be a good opportunity to revisit CD Projekt Red’s past work. Fortunately, if you don’t already have any of the Witcher games, the entire franchise is currently available with some significant discounts on Steam in a new Witcher sale.
What You Can Get in Steam’s New Witcher Sale
The Witcher series regularly goes on sale on CD Projekt’s own platform, GOG.com, but less often on Steam. As such, if you want to get the series on Valve’s platform, now is a great opportunity. The top-billed game in the Witcher sale is of course The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, CD Projekt’s award-winning RPG. That game is currently 70% off, while its two DLC expansions; ‘Hearts of Stone’ and ‘Blood and Wine’ are both 60% off. You can also get the Expansion Pass, including both DLC packs, for 60% off.
If you want to revisit the franchise’s earlier titles, those are available in the sale as well. Both The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition and The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director’s Cut are 85% off. Meanwhile, The Witcher Adventure Game, a 2014 digital adaptation of a Witcher board game, is also 85% off. The most recent Witcher title, Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales, is 25% off. Thronebreaker was released on Steam late last year. The game is a fully-fledged, narrative-driven title which uses the mechanics of the Gwent card game for its battles.
With Cyberpunk 2077 on the horizon, it’s currently unknown whether CD Projekt Red have any future plans for The Witcher series. Although they have said that Geralt’s story has concluded with The Witcher 3, they haven’t ruled out making more Witcher games with other protagonists. In fact, CD Projekt Red currently have a secret triple-A RPG in development, which is due to release by 2021. With all marketing focused on Cyberpunk 2077, fans currently know nothing about this project, but with it coming so soon after the upcoming RPG, it’s certainly possible that it could be a Witcher game.
