World of Tanks: Minsk Map Is Coming Soon

Another incredible map is coming to World of Tanks, and this time it is Minsk. Wargaming presented the upcoming map in the old Minsk City Hall on July 31. The map will feature the old Belarusian capital city and how it looked during the 1960s.

Wargaming’s Director for CIS, Yuri Kuryavy, disclosed that they had been thinking about this plan for quite some time. It was an idea that existed even before the entire game world. The map will feature many places of interest such as the Gorky Park, the Victory Monument, and the Yanka Kupala Park. It will also include a bridge passing over the Svisloch River.

The map was designed after a lot of research. Kuryavy, who is also the developer of World of Tanks, had to work on it for ten whole months along with a team of 45 people. Furthermore, they used historical documents to recreate this map so that it would be perfect. The virtual map of the Minsk city will be the first map that will introduce players to a realistic view of the capital city of Belarus.

Nevertheless, of course, the map has some differences from the real city so that it will be easily playable. Nevertheless, the places where the tank battles took place will be distinguishable. Players should be prepared to see the city of Minsk utterly different from how it is today, though. Before WWII, Minsk was a lot different than it is now. However, it will be fantastic for the fans of the game to play in such a map that holds so much history behind it. Also, it is a quadrant one km on one side.

Unfortunately, Wargaming did not disclose the release date of the Minsk map. However, as always, be sure that they will inform their World of Tanks community via their official website. Stay tuned so you will not miss this exciting new map.
