The WWE 2K Battlegrounds game packs a lot of fun in an arcade-style pro wrestling game. That includes a huge roster of superstars from the past and present. However, gamers need WWE 2K Battlegrounds currency to unlock many of them. In addition, that currency can unlock other items in the game. In this guide, we look at how to get Blue or Golden Bucks in WWE 2K Battlegrounds and what they’re for.
What is WWE 2K Battlegrounds currency for?
At the game’s launch, many of the superstars need to be unlocked by purchasing them. That’s where the WWE 2K Battlegrounds currency comes into play. There are options to buy and unlock other superstars in Battlegrounds using Blue Bucks or Golden Bucks.
The currency can unlock other things in the game as well. For example, you can purchase “Vanity Items” for your Superstar creations in the game at Character Creator. These are various accessories to use on your created superstar.
In addition, Blue and Golden Bucks may be used to unlock customization themes or other options for the Battlegrounds arenas you create. This is through the Battleground Creator option.
So there are plenty of uses for the currency in the WWE 2K game. Now let’s go over how to add it to your account.
How do you get Blue and Golden Bucks in WWE 2K Battlegrounds?
In the upper righthand corner of the screen will be your Blue Bucks and Golden Bucks amounts (if you have any). They are both used to purchase items, but both available through different ways.
How to get WWE 2K Battlegrounds Blue Bucks
Blue Bucks are earned simply by playing the game. So you can basically play any type of match. Win or lose you usually earn Blue Bucks after the match. A win will obviously bring more Blue Bucks. Accomplishing specific feats in a match can also bring Blue Bucks.
Playing the Exhibition mode is one way to rack up these Blue Bucks, but you can use any mode in the game, including Campaign/Store mode, and online play. You may find that some modes will reward you with more currency than others.
Additionally, on the main Battlegrounds screen, you’ll see a Daily Challenges section. Choose it to see three new in-game challenges each day. These are basically things like winning specific matches or performing specific moves. They’ll show you how much Blue Bucks you’ll earn for each. Some may be worth quite a bit more.
You’ll also “Level Up” as you play through the game, so keep an eye out for more Blue Bucks as you move up in levels.
How to get WWE 2K Battlegrounds Golden Bucks
Golden Bucks are a quicker way to unlock Superstars and other in-game items, because you’ll need less of them to spend compared to Blue Bucks. You get Golden Bucks by purchasing them with real money through PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store on the game console you use.
Also, the WWE 2K Battlegrounds pre-orders included a certain number of Golden Bucks once the game arrived. For example, the Digital Deluxe Edition came with 1,100 Golden Bucks for gamers to use with the game.
Current prices at PlayStation Store are:
- 500 Golden Bucks $4.99
- 1,100 Golden Bucks $9.99
- 2,300 Golden Bucks $19.99
- 4,100 Golden Bucks $34.99
- 6,500 Golden Bucks $49.99
See the Microsoft Store for Golden Bucks prices on Xbox One.
There’s a Locker Code entry area on WWE 2K Battlegrounds, but as of this report, we haven’t seen any Locker Codes. We’d recommend keeping an eye on @2KBattlegrounds Twitter for those in the future as they might include some WWE 2K Battlegrounds currency!
