WWE 2K20 Cover Stars Roman Reigns, Becky Lynch Discuss Being on Game’s Cover, Showcase Mode, & More
Over the past several days, professional wrestling fans learned that the WWE 2K20 cover stars are Roman Reigns and Becky Lynch. Both WWE superstars have seen incredible rises to the top since their days in NXT and have made headlines over the past year. Now they’re featured front and center on two editions of the popular WWE 2K game. They each are featured in recent interview clips with YouTube gamer and WWE fan Luge as they spoke about being on the cover of the game.
WWE 2K20 cover stars reveal how they learned they’d be on the cover
Over the past year, Roman Reigns had to step away from the wrestling ring due to the fact his leukemia that was previously in remission, was back. He took time off to fight that battle, and ultimately returned to the ring again. He also won an ESPY for the top moment in WWE and is now one of the two WWE 2K20 cover stars.
Reigns is amongst WWE Grand Slam Champions having won multiple titles during his main roster career. That includes the WWE Tag Team titles, United States, Intercontinental, and Universal Championships. He’s also a three-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion and a member of the former faction The Shield.
He talked to YouTuber Luge about how he learned he’d be on the cover of the new WWE 2K game.
Becky Lynch also had quite the year. She was rose to popularity as she started to embrace her tough side even more, changing her nickname to “The Man” and ultimately winning the 2019 Royal Rumble in Phoenix. Lynch would go on to main event WrestleMania 35 along with Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair. She’d leave it all in the ring and capture both the WWE Raw and SmackDown Women’s Championship belts.
She now holds just the WWE Raw Women’s Championship, but is also one of the WWE 2K20 cover stars. In fact, she’s the first female superstar in history to be on a WWE 2K cover.
Based on their comments, neither Roman Reigns, nor Becky Lynch were asked to be WWE 2K20 cover stars. However, they both clearly deserved to have a cover and will be a large part of the ongoing promotional campaign. They appeared in the WWE 2K20 trailer that leaked online this past weekend.
Becky Lynch talks about 2K Showcase Mode
Becky Lynch is also part of the game’s new Showcase Mode which features her role with the Four Horsewomen. That group also consists of Bayley, Sasha Banks, and Charlotte Flair. She spoke to Luge about that part of the game as far as what it starts out with and teased what else to expect with it.
This year’s game brings the women much more into the spotlight thanks to that Showcase Mode as well as several other new additions. One of them is the introduction of the Mixed Match Challenge, where women and men form tag teams to compete against one another.
The other is the introduction of being able to use a female superstar in the MyCareer Mode, something that was absent from WWE 2K19. All of these features, along with the fact Chyna is making her first appearance in the game in about a decade, really help bring the Women’s Revolution the attention it deserves.
