WWE 2K20 Patch 1.02 Notes: First Major Update Arrives for PS4, Xbox One, & PC

With the WWE 2K20 game out for just about two weeks, the first patch update has arrived. It comes after many gamers’ complaints over glitches and major issues with the game upon its release. However, it appears the 2K team worked diligently to address many of those issues via their first update. Here’s a look at what was fixed in the WWE 2K20 Patch 1.02 update.

WWE 2K20 Patch 1.02 fixes many issues

Problems plagued the new WWE 2K title for a few weeks, but now many may have been addressed. However, per WWE 2K20 patch notes, this is the first of what could be several patches coming for the game. They mention plans to “roll out additional patches in the near future” in order to address additional concerns. Nonetheless, the first one addresses quite a bit, per their notes.

Here’s everything they listed:

  • Gameplay and Controls
  • Graphics and Clipping
  • Hair Physics
  • Hit detection and aiming
  • Interactions with tables, ladders, steel steps, and other objects
  • Referee actions
  • Onscreen button prompts
  • Characters “warping” or moving unnaturally around the arena
  • Crashes and Freezing
  • Image downloads
  • Entrances and attires
  • Universe mode editing and saving
  • Custom and Created Superstars and creation modes
  • Commentary and sound effects
  • Online Stability, matchmaking, desyncs, and lag

The new WWE 2K20 patch 1.02 is for the Sony PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC. For most systems connected to the internet, it should automatically begin to install upon starting the console or game itself.

Patch update comes after release day issues

As mentioned, this first patch could be one of many, based on the numerous WWE 2K20 glitches people reported. They included poor graphics and animation, among other problems. It resulted in “#fixwwe2k20” trending on Twitter upon the game’s launch day and overall poor reviews on various websites including IGN, GamesRadar, and Metacritic.

It’s known that this is a release in which 2K was developed without longtime Japanese developer Yuke’s. Instead, 2K’s own Visual Concepts handled development on their own, which may explain how the game was released in the state it was. So in a transition year it’s understandable, but probably not acceptable for many gamers when paying as much as they have for a game.

Despite the issues, many gamers are still praising certain parts of the new pro wrestling game including Career Mode, the Towers, and the extra Bump in the Night DLC. The new WWE 2K20 game is currently available for the PS4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
