The upcoming WWE 2K20 game has yet to be officially announced but speculation about what it will include isn’t slowing down anytime soon. Some of the WWE 2K20 roster rumors over the past several months have included who will appear in the promotional ad and who might be on the cover. In addition, a former TNA Impact World Champion dropped a hint that Hulk Hogan may be a playable character in the game.

Former Impact champ sparks WWE 2K20 roster rumors

On a recent episode of Chris Van Vliet’s YouTube channel, he had former Impact World Champion Eli Drake on for an interview. He mentioned during that interview that he got to help out with Hulk Hogan’s entrance for motion capture. Drake told Van Vliet, “One of my favorite ones that I just did, it’s not going to be out until probably 2K20 — Hulk Hogan, old school entrance. The best. That was a dream come true.”

Eli Drake, real name Shaun Ricker, was previously with WWE back in 2013 to 2014 where he was part of several tag team bouts. One of those included Dean Ambrose (Jon Moxley) and another was on ECW involving Gene Snitsky against Cryme Tyme. He ended up becoming a jobber, and as of August in 2014, was released from the WWE contract.

From there he ultimately wound up in the competing company, TNA Impact Wrestling, where he worked for four years winning the World Tag Team, King of the Mountain, and Impact World Championships. However, Impact fired him leaving his options open for the future.

However, he’s continued to work with 2K on motion capture so his comments are quite interesting. That said, a report mentioned he also sent out a tweet to save himself from spoiling things said he did the capture for Hogan “just in case.” If Hulkster is officially in the game, it marks his first time since 2014’s WWE 2K15.

Will Eli Drake join WWE roster, video game?

The Instagram post below teases Eli Drake joining the WWE again. Current superstar Elias may have beef with him already since he turned WWE into “We Want Eli.” However, Drake is a free agent since his Impact Wrestling firing and WWE hasn’t shied away from bringing on former TNA guys. Among them are EC3 who was part of the Rising Stars DLC pack. He also is a former TNA Champion and former WWE star, who is now back in WWE with ECW.

Eli Drake is a playable character in WWE 2K19, but only if gamers download him from the Community Creations area. Otherwise, he’s not officially in the game. The same goes for Hulk Hogan. Drake (Ricker) also said in the Chris Van Vliet interview he’s yet to hear from WWE in terms of any formal offers to work there.

What we know about 2K20 game so far

So far, it’s mostly been WWE 2K20 rumors coming out about the next game. There have been rumors about who will be on the cover for the new game. It could be historic with the first-ever woman’s superstar to grace the front of the game.

Speculation has come up that Becky Lynch will appear on the cover with the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Championship belts. Others have speculated that maybe Roman Reigns will get the new cover. WWE could also do a 360 and go with neither of these stars or make the cover full of legends.

That’s based on WWE 2K20 rumors involving the promotional advertisement for the game. Rumors suggest that the 2K20 promotion will be huge for the new game similar to the NFL’s 100 commercial during the Super Bowl.

There’s been talk that various WWE legends will be in 2K20’s ad. These could include Ric Flair, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Hulk Hogan. Hulkster was at April’s WrestleMania 35 in New York, making a brief cameo early on to rev up the fans.

A few other things we know are that Sasha Banks was with 2K in NYC and that Eminem is part of the soundtrack. This information is based on various reports over the past several months. Beyond that, we’ve yet to see any official 2K20 release date or details. However, most fans are expecting it to arrive sometime in October like previous editions.
