It has been a long wait to find out more about the Xbox Series X. And now, we have some exciting news for you. Xbox boss Phil Spencer has just made a lengthy post on Xbox Wire titled, “What You Can Expect From the Next Generation of Gaming.” In it, he shares a number of Xbox Series X features and specs.
Here are the Xbox Series X Features and Specs Spencer Discussed
Spencer covered a pretty wide range of topics in his post. So you are going to want to check it out yourself to get the in-depth details. But here are some of the highlights:
- The next Xbox will feature 12 teraflops, variable rate shading and DirectX Raytracing.
- The SSD in the Xbox Series X together with Quick Resume, Dynamic Latency Input (DLI), HDMI 2.1 Innovation, and support for up to 120 fps will reduce latency and increase immersion.
- What is also awesome is that the Xbox Series X will be backwards compatible with games for the Xbox One, the Xbox 360 and the original Xbox. Also, with Smart Delivery, you pay once for a game on any Xbox platform and you can upgrade at no additional cost to versions on more advanced platforms in the future.
- Support for Xbox Game Pass remains a priority, as Spencer has stated previously.
Additionally, Spencer writes, “Xbox Series X is our fastest, most powerful console ever, designed for a console generation that has you at its center. This means a high-fidelity gaming experience enclosed in a quiet and bold design, with the ability to discover thousands of games across four generations, all with more playing and less waiting.
Last, Spencer closes by promising that Microsoft will be sharing “more details” in the “coming months” regarding the next Xbox. We’ll update you on further details on the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 as soon as they are available.
