Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s getting its long-awaited beta this August, so if you’re ready to jump into the game ahead of everyone else, this is your chance to do so. While you’re waiting for the beta to start, you’ll want to make sure you’ve got your copy of the game pre-ordered, because that’s going to determine whether or not you get into the game.
Black Ops 4 releases this October, but it may be hard to get a copy on launch day without preordering. That’s why you need to make sure you head to the retailer of your choice and preorder either the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Standard Edition or Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Specialist Edition. No matter which one you get, you’ll get access to the Black Ops 4 Private Beta, the very same one that begins in August.

There’s no real reason to get the Specialist Edition just for the beta, unless you just want to, so save your money and do a vanilla preorder to get your access, and then upgrade if you decide you like what you see when you finally do get access. Unfortunately, there’s no concrete date for when the beta will begin in August just yet, but we’ll make sure to keep you updated as to when it’s starting. Preordering is your best bet to get in right now, so make sure you plop that fiver down on the copy of your choice.
Beta keys are typically sent out via email or attached to the receipt if you make an in-store purchase, so don’t throw it away by accident! When you’ve got your copy, rejoice — you’ve got your ticket for entry. Keep checking back at VGR for more information on the beta, when it will start, and what kind of content it will contain. We’re just as excited as you are, trust me.
