A nice touch to the game’s details, is the existence of a huge white whale in Battlefield V. The whale can be found in the revealed Narvik map, in a rather unconventional area. What else could the developers have implemented into the game’s environment?
Popular Battlefield Youtuber jackfrags has managed to find the whale in Battlefield V, after searching for a few matches. If you are lucky enough, you’ll be able to see water sprouting out of the sea and go underwater to find the breathtaking creature swim below you. Seeing it in action is a sight for sore eyes.
Other than the whale in Battlefield V Narvik map, the whole realism in the night sea is exceptional. The lightning effects and sound could possibly catch up to the ones seen in Sea of Thieves, which is believed to be the most realistic one on that matter. Speaking as a person afraid of the depth of the sea, this looks frightening to say the least.
What makes this a great implementation in Battlefield V is the amount of effort spent to detail in the title. Yes, the whale swims too close to the shore to be realistic but the existense of it makes us wonder as to what else we’ll find out about the environment when the game releases in October.
History fact, whales are common to be found near Norway, which is why they’re being used both for their meat and fat. Since the Narvik map is set in the historical area of Narvik in Norway, it’s nice to see some “cultural” bits of the country being showcased as well.
Next thing we want to see is the iconic sunflower battlefield in the battle of Kursk. Fans on Reddit have already started theorrycrafting about its existence. Please DICE make it happen.
