You Can Now Buy Previously Downloaded Games Via PlayStation Store

If you have been a member of PlayStation Plus or PlayStation Now and let your membership lapse, you may have run into a snag when trying to purchase games you downloaded through that membership in the past. When you would go to buy them at the PlayStation Store, the system would not let you. Great news—this is now a problem of the past. PlayStation allows you to buy previously-downloaded games at last through the PlayStation Store.

You Can Finally Buy Previously-Downloaded Games Through the PlayStation Store

To say the problem with PlayStation Store purchases of previously-downloaded games was “frustrating” is an understatement. Indeed, it is quite ridiculous that gamers were, in a sense, punished for having been Now or Plus members. Anyone should be able to purchase whatever game they want through the PlayStation Store. It was absurd not to be able to simply because you played it for free in the past.

The only reason this problem existed was technical. The PlayStation Store apparently could not tell one license from another. So, if you tried to purchase a game, it would tell you that you already had. Of course, all it was seeing was your old PS Now or Plus license which you could no longer use.

PS5 Production Scaled up to Meet demand 2

This technical problem is fixed at last. The PlayStation Store will now be able to tell you have nothing more than a lapsed Now or Plus license, and will let you purchase the game to download and play without your membership. So, that’s a major relief, right?

In other PlayStation news, apparently there will be some “shocking” PS5 timed exclusives. And in another rumor, there is also apparently a PS5 SOCOM game under development.
