Over the years, a number of people have used video games as a way to propose to their partners. Sometimes these attempts have gone very well, while others have backfired, such as the now-infamous proposal in the recent Spider-Man. Recently, a YouTuber who goes by “GrumbleGamer” set up a Fallout 76 proposal for his girlfriend, and Bethesda themselves were able to lend a helping hand.
How Bethesda Helped a YouTuber With Their Fallout 76 Proposal
The tale began in early October, when GrumbleGamer reached out to the official Fallout account on Twitter; “Hey Fallout,” he says; “my 4 year anniversary with my girlfriend is 4 days after the release of Fallout 76. We’ve been playing Fallout for 3 years now. Thing is, I’m hoping to propose to her this anniversary, but I want it to be perfect. Any chance you could help a lone wanderer out?”; as you can see below, Pete Hines himself responded.

According to GrumbleGamer himself, he has been planning to propose for some time, but wasn’t sure how to arrange things. However, it seems that the launch of Fallout 76, and specifically the fact that it was a multiplayer game, became an ideal opportunity; “We used to play Skyrim for hours, days even,” he says; “and when I left my parents’ place and moved in with her, she bought me an Xbox One with Fallout 4 for Christmas after I’d gotten out of the hospital. Bethesda has always been a thing in our relationship and always will. So when we saw a multiplayer Fallout was coming out, we were ecstatic.”
The couple has a long history of doing unboxing videos on the GrumbleGamer channel, and so the YouTuber took the opportunity to stage the proposal as just another such video. However, the item to be unboxed was a framed picture made specially by Bethesda. You can see how the Fallout 76 proposal goes in the video below. Needless to say, we wish them the very best!
